A Word From the President
|
Greetings!
It's been a busy and exciting couple of months since our last newsletter. We held our first ever Open House, offering tours to vocational high school students and staff, community leaders, neighbors, friends and relatives over the course of the day. It was a great opportunity for us to show off our facility and promote manufacturing in the US. The experience has been an avenue to improving communication with our legislators, educating the public about our products and services, and opening up opportunities to collaborate with vocational programs training our future workforce. Overall, it was a very successful day for everyone involved!
We are proudly announcing the release of our new website. More than doubling the size of our previous website, we were able to drastically increase the content. This will allow our customers and prospects to learn about and keep up to date on our capabilities, services and community involvement. Have a look and let us know what you think!
We are also featuring an article on our fully programmable automated wash system. This is perhaps our ultimate commitment to process repeatability and consistency. If you have ever received product that was not quite clean enough, found debris trapped in blind holes, or had complaints from subcontractors trying to plate or assemble your components you should check it out!
Regards,
Jon

Manufacturing Day at North Easton Machine
North Easton Machine Company held an open house on Friday October 4th to celebrate National Manufacturing Day. Students, elected officials and the local community were invited to tour the facility on Elm Street. In the morning, North Easton Machine hosted one hundred and twenty high school students from Bristol Plymouth Regional Vocational Technical High School, Southeastern Regional Vocational Technical High School, South Shore Vocational-Technical High School, Diman Regional Vocational Technical High School and Tri-County Regional Vocational Technical School.
The students took tours of the shop floor and spoke with the company's President Jon Holbrook and Vice President Paul Diamond about careers in manufacturing. Meghan Abella-Bowen was also on site representing Bristol Community College's Engineering Program. She fielded student questions about earning a degree in the manufacturing field. From 1:00 - 4:00 PM North Easton Machine opened its doors to the public, providiing facility tours and information to anyone interested. Elected officials from the state and town of Easton, including Representative Claire Cronin, Representative Shaunna O'Connell, and Easton Town Administrator David Colton attended.

This year marked the second annual Manufacturing Day, a national day created to educate the public about the manufacturing industry in the United States. On this day local manufacturers open their doors to show the public what they do, in a unified effort to change misconceptions about the industry. MFG Day (as it has been dubbed) is an opportunity for companies to address labor shortages, connect with younger generations, and create a positive image of their businesses. North Easton Machine's event provided a wonderful opportunity for visitors to see firsthand the work that's done in a manufacturing shop and learn what "Made in America" means to the local economy.
