A Word From the President

Greetings!

Welcome to the first edition of our new bi-monthly e-newsletter "Turning Times". Since being founded back in 1964 by my father, Donald R. Holbrook, North Easton Machine has strived to deliver quality components at competitive pricing with a high level of customer service.  An important part of that commitment has always been to work closely with our customers to meet their individual needs. The purpose of this e-newsletter is to keep you informed of our latest capabilities, happenings, community involvement  and important industry news.

This edition contains a summary of our attendance to the Mass Manufacturing Summit at Gillette Stadium, information on our managed inventory programs, an article on the recent visit from Dr. Zorica Pantic, the President of Wentworth Institute of Technology, as well as information on the upcoming second annual Manufacturing Day.

We hope you find this e-newsletter informative as we continue to strive to strengthen our connections with our customers, suppliers and the community.

Regards,
Jon

MA Manufacturing Summit Held at Gillette Stadium

On June 20, 2013, Jon Holbrook, Paul Diamond, and Paula Martel represented North Easton Machine Company at the first statewide Massachusetts Manufacturing Summit held at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough. The event drew hundreds of manufacturing professionals, educators, and government officials.  Key note speakers included Governor Deval Patrick and Greg Bialecki, Secretary of Housing and Economic Development. North Easton Machine was proud to participate in this important step for the advanced manufacturing industry, which is "making a comeback" according to Governor Patrick. The full day conference allowed attendees to hear from OEM customer panels, learn about creative financing, and hear about creative workforce training opportunities available in Massachusetts. NEM attendees participated in workshops covering such diverse topics as Energy Management, Solutions for Supplying Your Talent Pool, and How to Serve Emerging Early Stage Companies. The Summit provided North Easton Machine an opportunity to get advice on dealing with issues in the workforce, new technologies, and learning how to market their services.  It also offered time to network with elected officials, fellow manufacturers, and vocational/college training program staff. Speakers at the Summit discussed STEM, as well as other planned programs to get youth involved in advanced manufacturing. NEM hopes to use the knowledge gained at the Summit to build its workforce by reaching out to students and to make strategic investments to better serve its customers.

Manufacturing Day: October 4, 2013

Manufacturing Day is a day to celebrate and appreciate the manufacturing industry. The day provides manufacturers a chance to open their doors and show the public what they do, in a unified effort to change misconceptions about the industry. Manufacturing Day (or MFG Day, as it has been dubbed) is an opportunity for companies to address labor shortages, connect with younger generations, and create a positive public image of the industry. North Easton Machine is excited to participate in this great event! Please be on the lookout for more to come as we continue planning for our Manufacturing Day.
