WIF at Your Fingertips!
by Jessica Klasinski

If you haven't visited the WIF website (www.womensimpactfund.org) lately or at all, you should. It is a dynamic tool with lots of information and history about our organization.

Do you need the email address for a fellow WIF member?  Do you want to know our grant history?  What about upcoming events?  All of this information and much more can be found on the website.  Let it be your all access point for all things WIF.

Over the past year, we have made a great effort to keep the website fresh with new content about fellow WIF members, past grantees, and other WIF news.

It is also a great resource for prospective members. They can learn the story of WIF, see WIF leadership, and learn how to become a member.  When new member, Elizabeth Stinson, moved back to the area she wanted to find a way to get re-connected.  She remembered hearing about WIF and started her search.

"I found the website, researched the information, found all the membership forms needed, filled them out, and emailed them to WIF Central, and as simple as that, I became a member," says Stinson. She loves the website and found it to be a great tool.

We encourage all members to visit the website, explore. We're pretty sure you will learn something new about WIF!

All Members Part of WIF Grants Process
by Susan Patterson

WIF's annual grants review process has begun!

While almost 60 women on the Grants Committee will be busy for the next six months reviewing applications and narrowing them down to finalists, we can't forget that we're all part of the Grants process. Why? Because each of us can - and should - vote on the grant recipients.

Want to know more about how the process works? You're invited to join an hour-long teleconference at noon on October 5 to get an overview of the process, led by Grants Committee chair Kathleen O'Bannon.

Here is the call-in information:

As a reminder, here's how the Grants calendar looks for the year.

The Grants teams - one for each issue area - have begun meeting and investigating the needs and issues in our community.

Letters of Intent from Charlotte non-profits will be accepted through October 5, 2016. Shortly thereafter, the teams will begin their review of these initial, shorter applications...READ MORE

She will share some of her story as part of the panel on homelessness at the upcoming Social Hour for Social Issues.

On TV: Laura Maniec, Master Sommelier and Corkbuzz co-founder, was featured in Uncorked, an Esquire Network television show that follows six aspiring Master Sommeliers, as they prepare for the Court of Masters Sommelier exam.  Laura is one of only 32 women in the world to have the Master Sommelier credentials.  Watch for her in episodes 1, 4 and 5. http://tv.esquire.com/shows/uncorked
