They ARE Their Mothers' Daughters!
by Candice Langston

One of the most exciting things about WIF is the energy and excitement among our new members. More than a few, though new to WIF, are certainly no strangers to giving back to their community. That's because they were introduced to philanthropy AND to WIF by their mothers. In this story, you'll meet three: Kailey Izard (daughter of Kathy), Rebecca Morris (daughter of
Mom Robin & Daughter Robbie Branstrom
Katie), and Robbie Branstrom (daughter of Robin).

As you will read, these young women are eager to put their own stamp on the WIF experience.

Tell me about your history with WIF. What (or who) inspired you to join?

Kailey: I joined WIF in 2014, though I'd never thought of myself as a leader and certainly not qualified to be in the Women's Impact Fund. In my view, at the time, WIF was for "grown-ups" and I certainly was not one yet...I had recently graduated from college and was in the midst of overwhelming "what am I doing in life" mode! Shortly after I joined, Anne Essaye asked if I would join the committee to help find a new location for WIF headquarters. I went to the Wine and Wisdom event, thinking that yet again, I would be a fly on the wall. When asked who I was I would answer "Kathy Izard's daughter." However, a glass of wine and 30 minutes of awkwardly bumping around in the reception area later, I found myself standing in the bleachers with everyone staring at me...READ MORE
Talking About Impact

Bechtler Museum of Modern Art

In 2014, WIF awarded $54,600 to the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art for its "School and Community Outreach" program. The Bechtler has used its WIF grant to send artists into the community to provide art classes for public school students, incarcerated youth and adults, individuals with developmental disabilities, and individuals with low-to-no-vision...READ MORE

Thanks! Record Participation In Annual Fund
by Veronica Kenny-Macpherson

As we embark on a new program year, I as WIF's Development Committee Chair want to thank you for your incredible generosity.

Over the past year, 134 WIF members made a gift to the Annual Fund, breaking the previous record of 125 set during our 10th Anniversary year. That's an impressive 32 percent participation rate, resulting in more than $43,000 for our Annual Fund.

Why your gift is important...
*    It supports our education and engagement programs, inspiring our members and promoting WIF's continued growth and sustainability;
*    It helps cover a portion of operational costs, thereby keeping member fees low and making WIF accessible and affordable to a broader group of women in our community; and
*    It ensures strong staff leadership to maximize the talents of our 400-plus members.

Some facts about Annual Fund gifts...
*    15 percent of the members who made a gift to the Annual Fund did so through the ACH option, adding a few extra dollars to their monthly dues payment.
*    Gifts ranged from $10 to $3,700.
*    40 percent of gifts were $100 or less - all gifts matter!
*    Many members used their company's matching gift program to make their gift to the Annual Fund.
*    100 percent of our Board of Directors made a gift.

Thank you for your continued investment in the Women's Impact Fund - in treasure, time and talent.
