Four Pros Headline Wine & Wisdom

Four women active in Charlotte's arts scene will take the stage in a panel discussion on leadership at this year's Wine & Wisdom. WIF member Andi Stevenson will moderate.

Ayisha McMillan Cravotta is director of the Charlotte Ballet Academy. She studied with and then joined the Houston Ballet and performed around the world. She spent five seasons with Charlotte Ballet and was the first African American woman to play a principal role in the company's Nutcracker. She retired as a professional dancer in 2007 and joined Charlotte Ballet's marketing department, and in 2011 became principal of the Charlotte Ballet Academy.

Devlin M. McNeil joined Community School of the Arts (CSA) in June 2013 as President and Executive Director. She received her BFA, as a non-traditional student, from UNCC with concentrations in Photography and Art History. She has completed coursework for the Master of Arts in Arts Administration (MAAA) program at Winthrop University. Prior to her role at Community School of the Arts, she worked for McColl Center for Visual Art for 10-1/2 years - with a brief hiatus to work with the Public Art Program of the Charlotte Area Transit System. She has associations with National Art Education Association (NAEA), National Guild for Community Arts Education, Charlotte Symphony Guild, Women Executives, and serves on the board of the Charlotte Lesbian and Gay Fund.

Adrienne Dillinger is a utilitarian potter and executive director and instructor at Clayworks. A Charlotte native, she received her BFA from East Carolina University. Adrienne began working for Spirit Square Center for Arts and Education as an art instructor in 1995. In 1998, she was named as the Clayworks Studio Manager for McColl Center for Visual Art, and she continued in that position until Clayworks spun off into its own non-profit in 2005.

Brenda Tindal is a scholar, archivist and educator. She was recently named staff historian at the Levine Museum of the New South . The Charlotte native has a BA in history and Africana studies from UNC  Charlotte and a MA in American studies from Emory University where's completing her PhD. She was a researcher and assistant on the Levine's award-winning exhibit, "Courage: The Carolina Story That Changed America."

There was a big turnout for a hot topic, including long-time and new members alike.
