WIF Value - Equality, One Woman, One Vote

By Mary Sherrill Ware

The fact that each member makes an equal contribution to the grant pool and has an equal vote in awarding grants is one of the many reasons why Women's Impact Fund (WIF) is a special organization.  In many organizations, decisions are made by a select few versus a majority vote.  Regardless of your title, tenure or time spent volunteering with WIF, your vote as to which non-profit project WIF should select for investment carries the same weight and value.

2015-2016 Slate for Leadership Announced

By Jeanette Sims

The Board of Directors recently approved the Nominating Committee's recommendations for 2015-2016 WIF leadership positions.  A full membership vote will be taken during the Annual Meeting on May 20th.  To see the list of dynamic and talented women who we propose to step into these leadership roles, please click here.  In addition to the slate for the Board of Directors, you will see the nominations for our newly created Incoming Committee Chair roles, our Nominating Committee and our Board of Advisors.  If you have any questions or comments, please don't hesitate to contact me directly at jetsims@earthlink.net
or 704-651-5841.

Moving to Member Engagement

You'll notice a change in the slate of officers (see story above). There is no longer a Membership Chair AND a Member Education Chair. The Board has approved a merger of the two, creating a new committee, called Member Engagement.

Here's why that makes good sense: To continue to grow and be successful, WIF must not only attract new members, it must retain existing members. And to do that, it must engage members - in a variety of ways. It may be social settings to meet members or issue or community need sessions, such as Lunch and Learn's. The new committee will have a Chair and Incoming Chair, both serving on the Board, and it will have work teams focused on recruitment, retention, as well as engaging educational activities.
