 Renovation Updates:
Premier Builders is working on building the library addition on Tanner St. The existing library building will be closed into the first half of 2016.
They've been working hard through February, completing a lot of the interior framing and gypsum board, and painting has commenced! The roof will be getting the slag/gravel surface now that the edge metal is competed. The photo to the right shows a bit of the terrazzo floor that was uncovered in the rotunda. Once the coast is clear, the restoration of this area will continue to bring this stunning original feature back to life. Click on the following links to view floor plans (different shapes that represent types of furniture/seating only indicate presence, not actual color or shape of the furniture): Floor Plan for Ground Floor - Fiction/Mystery/Sci-Fi/Large Print Stacks
Next month, we'll feature plans for the Children's Department and a detail of the Young Adult room. |

Buy a Leaf to support the "We Love Our Library" Campaign
The HPL Library Board of Trustees has initiated the "We Love Our Library" campaign to provide fund raising for the library's long awaited expansion and renovation. The campaign will raise funds for the enhancements, such as contemporary furnishings, equipment, and newer technology throughout the building. You can help by buying a leaf on the tree mural created by HMHS National Honor Society members. The tree has moved over to the annex. Donations are being accepted from $5 to $250. Check with the library staff at the circulation desk. Donations of $250 or above will be permanently honored in the library after completion of the renovation, anticipated to be completed in the first half of 2016! For more information visit here!
