Happy New Year, everyone! It's the start of another year and we wish you and your families the best. We are looking forward to another year of serving the Haddonfield community. The library has a lot of good news to start the year. Read about what's new below!

The library expansion and renovation will move forward in 2015! The construction phase has begun. Bids for construction will be sent out in early 2015. The library will remain in operation at our present site until a construction bid is accepted by the Borough of Haddonfield. The LIbrary Board is still working on an alternate site for service. Arrangements have been made for borrowing services at other area libraries. The sale of some vintage library furnishings and equipment continues. Click here for the auction site. Watch for updates!

Congratulations to Rachel Rozenfeld, who earned her Girl Scout Silver award for creating a mural of Haddonfield. Rachel's mural will hang in the renovated library. Rachel did the project as part of Haddonfield's Tricentennial celebration in 2013. She will receive her award in spring 2015.

Visit the library on Jan. 11 and meet Haddonfield High School National Honor Society artists who have created a mural - see the story below.

The library is focusing on how libraries change lives. Aysha Ames' success story is featured below. Share your story with us, large or small, to get the word out about how the library helps people in Haddonfield. Contact the library director at 429-1304, ext. 7 or email sbriant@haddonfieldlibrary.org

Don't forget to check out the library's subscriptions to eBooks (the 3M Cloud and  Overdrive) which also has downloadable audio books. We also have Hoopla, providing download and streaming of movies, music, TV shows, and more audio books. If you got a new device for the holidays, stop in if you need any help getting started with these subscriptions or visit the links above with lots of information to get started. All with your library card!

A special thank you to the Haddonfield Garden Club for decorating the library so beautifully over the holidays!

Libraries Change Lives - Aysha Ames' Success Story

The library received a holiday card from Haddonfield resident Aysha Ames.

Aysha Ames wrote:
The holiday season is the perfect time to remember all the blessings received throughout the year. I am extremely grateful to the Haddonfield
Public Library. When I studied for the bar exam last summer, the
Library staff was so supportive, welcoming and, of course, knowledgeable!
I know that the Haddonfield Library helped me to be successful
in the bar exams for NJ and Pennsylvania. Thank you!
  Warmest wishes,
 Aysha Ames

Editor's note: Aysha is now employed at a law firm in Atlantic County!

January 11 at 3 pm - Meet the Artists.

The Haddonfield Public Library will host "Meet the Artists" on Sunday, January 11, 2015 at 3pm to honor and thank the HMHS student artists responsible for creating a mural that will hang in the Library's temporary annex space during the addition/renovation project.  Student Event Coordinator, Abby Czernieckiis, led the National Art Honor Society on the project along with NAHS Supervisor, Allie Westerside.  The mural will act as a donor recognition element and a spark igniting the We Love the Library campaign.  Please join us to show your support of the artists and the library. To register for this free program, call 856-429-1304, ext. 114.
