The Green Team: Chip Bag Collection (Mon-Fri in the Cafeteria)
In an effort to reduce, reuse, and recycle, our lunchroom has a new bin for up-cycling lunchbox chip baggies. The chip bag collection will reduce waste while earning money for our school through Terracycle. We also welcome PES families to drop off their Single Serve, King or Family size SALTY snack bags. Fairchild Challenge Awards

Join Us Wednesday, May 27, 5-7:00 pm
at the Garden House at Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens
Mrs. Raposo's Class and Mrs. Ferrer's Class will be receiving Special Merit Awards for their creative masks at the ceremony! All Palmetto students and staff are invited to attend. Anne Oria will be receiving a Special Merit Award for her Whimsical and Creative "Adventures of a Seed" Haiku. Palmetto Elementary School will be recognized for 5 years of exemplary participation at this awards program. Please be there to represent our school! This is an extremely important event for our school and needs your support!. This is Mrs. Cummins last year doing this challenge and would love to see you there to celebrate a wonderful moment! Join us for an evening of Music! And Celebration! PES Performing Arts invite you to attend the annual Spring Concert, where students celebrate, cheer, and share their talents with their musical and artistic expressions. Tickets $5 each available at the door.
Performing Arts Awards Ceremony will be held Monday, June 1st at 7:00 pm, Palmetto Senior High School.

We will hold a special Buy One Get One Free Book Fair on Thursday, May 28, and Friday May 29. This will be a great time to stock up on your Summer Reading!

Last Day of School & Modified Schedule Days: June 2nd, 3rd and 4th |
Last Day of School: Thursday, June 4th
Modified Schedule: 8:20am-1:35pm for June 2nd, 3rd and 4th
Please note that the end of the school year is just 2 weeks away!
Tuesday, June 2nd through the last day of school, Thursday, June 4th all grades will observe a modified schedule and attend school from 8:20am-1:35pm. Please plan student pickups and drop-offs accordingly.
Also, no uniform the last 3 days of school, and that week we will be collecting gently used, outgrown uniforms in the Media Center to help children in need at the Miami Rescue Mission get their new school year off to a great start.

Congratulations to the Community Foundation of Pinecrest for being selected as the Winner of the Champions of PTA Award!
This is a huge accomplishment as the winner was selected from nominations submitted throughout the entire Miami-Dade County! A huge Thank You to all this year's nominees and many volunteers who have made this year so successful.
A special "thank you" to the many dads, granddads, staff members and other men who joined our PTA this year. With more than 100 of you among our members, we earned the "Supermen of PTA" trophy! Shout out to our Watch D.O.G.S. who have logged hundreds of volunteer hours! We are so grateful to have you as part of our PTA!

Legacy Tree and Branch of Wisdom | There is still time to submit form if haven't already! Forms are attached (tree/ branch). Don't miss your opportunity to participate in the Legacy Tree, a PES tradition, or to have your Fifth grader join the Branch of Wisdom, a new PES tradition. Legacy Tree proceeds will go to improving the courtyards at the school, while Branch of Wisdom proceeds benefit the Fifth Grade Fund. Order forms for either project can be left in the PTA mailbox in the office, or given to your child's teacher in an envelope marked "Attn PTA".
