Take your Child to Work Day is this Friday, April 10.  Parent Permission Form for Field Trip must be signed by a parent and submitted by Thursday, April 9, 2015.  Forms went home in backpacks last week.

"Endangered" Art Exhibition
Endangered Friday, April 10 at the Tropical Audubon Society's Historic Doc Thomas House
                                
All PES Students in grades 1 through 5 will have artwork displayed at the "Endangered" art exhibition at the Tropical Audubon Society's Historic Doc Thomas House at 5530 Sunset Drive in South Miami.  The exhibit will be open from 6:30 - 9 PM and will future a performance by Jazz Combo.  Come out to support this evening celebrating the arts!
PES Night at Sub Shack!
Monday, April 20 from 5 - 8 PM
 
Mr. Torres and Coach Tanner will be behind the counter, taking your dinner orders.  A portion of sales and all tips benefit PES!  Can't join us in the evening?  Stop by during the day and mention PES and a portion of sales will still go to our school.  Looking for dessert, too?  We're working out the details for that evening with Chill'N, so plan to come hungry!
Legacy Tree and Branch of Wisdom

PES Legacy Tree and Branch of Wisdom order deadline extended to April 17! Forms are attached (tree/branch). Don't miss your opportunity to participate in the Legacy Tree, a PES tradition, or to have your Fifth grader join the Branch of Wisdom, a new PES tradition. Legacy Tree proceeds will go to improving the courtyards at the school, while Branch of Wisdom proceeds benefit the Fifth Grade Fund. Order forms for either project can be left in the PTA mailbox in the office, or given to your child's teacher in an envelope marked "Attn PTA". Spring Book Fair Thank You

Big Thank You!  


to all our families who made our Spring Book Fair a huge success. Special thanks to Tina Montesano, Book Fair Chair, our outstanding Watch DOGS and all the volunteers who put in their time and effort to make  this event happen.  Here it is by the numbers: 

  • The school earned over $10,000 in scholastic dollars (used for purchasing new books for the media center),
  • Nearly 300 books donated to teacher's classrooms,
  • Over 200 volunteer hours!
Amazing!  Way to go Palmetto!

May 14th is Fathers in Education Day and we are encouraging the participation of our wonderful WatchDOGS! Fathers, brothers, grandfathers, uncles and male mentors are welcome! That is also the day of our Volunteer Breakfast so both Dads and Moms can enjoy a nice breakfast and then WatchDOGS can spend the day volunteering at the school. Staff Appreciation Week

Call for Volunteers:  May 18th-22nd!
 

Our teachers and staff do so much for our children all year long. Every day, they teach and help our children grow and learn. Teacher appreciation week is our chance to thank them and it's just around the corner.
