Jump Rope for Heart
Friday, February 13
9:00 am - 2:00 pm
Our school is participating in a very special community service program to raise funds for the American Heart Association. We are jumping to fight against our nation's #1 and #3 killers: cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Our Annual Jump Rope for Heart event helps students learn about the benefits of regular physical activity and heart health, and teaches children the value of giving back to those in need. Heart disease affects every family, so help us support the American Heart Association, as they help people live longer, healthier lives! Contact Coach Tanner with questions.

Relay for Life
|
Saturday, February 28
One of our community's greatest events is coming up: The Pinecrest, Palmetto Bay, and Cutler Bay Relay for Life on Saturday, February 28, at Evelyn Greer Park. Please consider getting involved in some way in this great community event.
Relay for Life is a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society focusing on community engagement and is not an actual race: it is an analogy, created to replicate a relay race, set around a track, with a group of teams working for months towards a fundraising goal. This is the event's fifth year, and the second year we have included our neighboring cities to the south. Our community has raised $500,000 over the past four years, making us one of the top 20 Relays for Life in the State of Florida.
More than 30 teams have already signed on this year, but opportunities to create your own team still exist -- in honor of someone currently battling cancer, or a survivor, or in memory of someone lost to cancer. Contact Cheri Ball at Cheri_Ball@yahoo.com to learn about creating a team, or to get involved in some way with this great community event.

Spring Book Fair |

Coming March 9 to 13!
We invite you to visit our Scholastic Book Fair and experience a celebration of reading that provides families the opportunity to get involved in a universal mission: encouraging kids to read every day so they can lead better lives.
Our Book Fair is part of a reading event that brings to school a wonderful selection of fun, engaging, and affordable books kids want to read. Giving kids access to good books and the opportunity to choose books will motivate them to read more. And like most acquired skills, the more kids practice reading, the better they'll get. Since there will never be a substitute for a parent's direct involvement in his/her child's education, please make plans to visit our Book Fair.
Before your visit, be sure to download the FREE Book Fairs App to help you find the right books for your child. For more information, visit: scholastic.com/apps/bookfairs. All booked up during Book Fair week? Visit our Online Fair, available March 1, at scholastic.com/fair.
Time to volunteer during Book Fair? Contact Tina Montesano at tinam126@gmail.com. Thanks for your support!
