We need you to clip Box Tops to raise money for ACT! Please turn in your Box Tops to your class or the front office labeled with your child's and teacher's name (for credit for individual and class prizes).
It's easy! Look for Box Tops on hundreds of your favorite General Mills products. For more information, visit the Box Tops website at boxtops4education.com or contact Jennifer Bermudez at jenna811@aol.com.

New Summer Reading Program
|

Keep Reading Over the Summer and Raise Money for our School!
Visit www.learn2earn.org to register your child for the program: the accounts have been created, but are not active until you log in with the information provided on the handout. * Once you have completed the registration, your child will be able to invite friends and family members to sponsor their summer reading. Sponsorships can be for a flat amount, or per book read.
* Students should read books in their reading range as of the end of the school year * Children will log their summer reading on their personal page, answer a few questions about each book read, and earn points to decorate their "owlvatar" (or owl avatar). * At the end of the summer, your child can print a report of his or her reading and turn it in during the first week of school. PTA will reward summer readers with $1 Scholastic buck for each book read (up to $10). Other prizes will be awarded for top readers in each grade. * This program is completely separate from AR, so your child can take quizzes on those books upon returning to school in the fall. This is a new program that we are very excited to be trying out! Eighty-five percent of funds raised come directly back to PES, which will get our new school year off to a great start. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Janet Hodur at janethdot@yahoo.com. Thanks as always for your support. We hope you have a safe and enjoyable summer -- happy reading!

PTA Membership |
This year more than ever, we need the Palmetto Elementary Community to support our PTA. The PTA is an organization dedicated to improving our children's scholastic lives through its fundraising efforts during the school year. The easiest way to contribute is by purchasing one of our membership packages - click here for details and forms needed to join. Anyone can join - including grandparents - and your contribution funds programs and activities that directly impact our children's academic experience at Palmetto Elementary.
Membership is not tied to any volunteer commitments, but rather is a way to show your support for the programs and events that the PTA provides. Don't miss out on this very significant opportunity...
