School Library Media Month
|
April is School Library Media Month
Did you know that there are more than 117,000 libraries in the United States and that about 94,000 of these are school libraries? Miami-Dade County Public Schools alone has over 340 school library media centers.
Did you know that Palmetto Elementary leads all Elementary Schools in the South Region with the most library book check-outs per pupil? As of April 8th, our total circulation is over 38,600 and our students have earned over 42,000 AR Points! That is AWESOME Palmetto!
Remember that 38,600 books checked-out means 38,600 books to place back on the shelves and 42,000 AR Points means thousands of Rainbow Reader Tags that must be labeled and distributed. Therefore, we would like to extend a special thank you to the dedicated Media Center and Rainbow Reader Volunteers who make this possible for our students!
