We WANT your voices heard to help create a sustainable plan for PLAY EAT SUCCEED.

When it comes to Healthy Celebrations, Incentives and Rewards our goal is to create a consistent message with your input for our students and faculty. We will have achieved great success if we create a forum that becomes a collaborative effort, school and community wide!

Peace Week
|
Pal metto Elementary Students and Staff Celebrated Peace Week October 15-19.
The theme for this year was "Be A Buddy, Not a Bully."
Some of the activities included: choosing Secret Pals to be kind to all week, a writing prompt on "Ways to Be Kind," creating a Wall of Peace with students' wishes for peace, and Mix-It-Up at Lunch in which students were paired up with partners who they do not usually sit with to try to get to know them better. Conversation starters were provided on each lunch table to assist them. Several fourth and fifth grade students participated in a workshop conducted by the Anti-Defamation League entitled "Becoming An Ally: Responding to Name-Calling and Bullying." Students also made Kindness Ladders listing ways to be a buddy. They received kindness pencils, kindness bracelets and pledge cards, courtesy of our PTA. All of these activities are part of our No Place for Hate program that we are participating in for the second year in a row. |

Character Parade

Character Parade (All Grades)
Wednesday, October 31st
8:45-9:45 AM
PE Court
Costumes should be school-appropriate and non-violent and should avoid gory elements. Students will not be allowed to carry weapons as part of their costumes. Masks are permitted, but please remember that the entire school will be allowed to participate in this event, and we need to ensure our youngest students are not frightened.
Students in costumes deemed not appropriate will not be allowed to participate in the parade.
Any student who does not wish to participate may go to the Media Center.
Following the parade, children will return to normal school-day activities. Please send them to school with their uniform under their costume. If the uniform cannot be worn under the costume, students must bring their uniform to school and change after the parade.
All parents are invited to watch the children walk the parade route! As a means to stay on schedule and to secure the safety of the children, please gather on the PE Court and track area, NOT in the classrooms or the hallways. |
