How To Deal
with Temptations
It's time to fight back. Our plan is to end the battle by:
1. Remove or lessen the temptations. 2. Fight back. 3. Set a goal like weight reduction and get motivated. You can overcome the desires to eat. Here is an powerful way to do this.
Do this whenever you have a desire to eat anything not on your food plan. Feel free to modify it. Say the two questions out loud or to yourself.
What's going on? ......Stress, tired, angry whatever. Something may come up or not. Just ask the question wait for few second and go on to next question. What can I do? ..... Build up a list of what works for you.
What we are doing is shifting your awareness from a temptation to analytical questions. You are then one step removed from temptation.
Samples of 'What can I do' A. Strong or Peace self hypnosis My shoulders, arms and hands are strong...or at peace. My chest and stomach are strong....or at peace. My back is strong....or at peace My heart is strong. I am strong....or at peace. B. Use a squeeze ball C. Eat a carrot, celery, something healthy. D. Drink a lot of water. E. Imagine a stream cleansing my body. F. Use the signpost. See future if you stay overweight. See future at goal weight. G. Think about what eating sweets will do to you. H. Overeating and eating sweets packs on more weight. I. Eating sweets amy start a binge. J. Go to another room.
