First all these ideas can be used for other areas.
We are just focusing here on weight loss because so many people suffer from being overweight. They suffer from having to carry the extra 25 to 50 to more pounds on their body every day. And they suffer from being bombarded with desires to overeat and eat junk food which they have to fight off or not.
Over our lifetime we have learned to deal with a number of emotional issues by eating. We have developed habits. When a certain emotional issue comes up we eat to diffuse it. When our boss says we are behind we might get stressed out and eat a candy bar. When we get fired we might put on weight for awhile. And we go on and develop more habits for more issues.

I hope from last weeks exercise you learned a lot about the when, where and why you have desires to eat. Today we will look at the top reasons.
At the top of a sheet of paper write your goal or change. Then write down the word 'sorrow'. Then make a list of sorrows in your life particularly ones around the times you gained weight. Visualize one sorrow as a balloon with it's name on it. Tied by a string to your stomach. Cut the string and watch the sorrow float away.
Go through each sorrow this way. What we want to do is go through all of the Top Reasons that apply to you. Can be done all at once or anytime.
EXERCISE
Sit or lay down comfortably.
Say peace self hypnosis.
My shoulders, arms and hands are at peace.
My chest and stomach are at peace.
My back is at peace.
My heart is at peace. I am at peace.
Visualize one reason as a balloon with it's name on it. Tied by a string to your stomach. Cut the string and watch the sorrow float. go through the list at your own pace.
When you have desires do the same thing visualize it as a balloon with the name of what you want to eat with a string attached to your stomach. Cut the string and watch it float away.
No Pain No Gain
What we need to do is replace bad eating habits with good habits. This is what we are doing. It takes time and guts.
