 How would you like to lose weight for the Summer? There's time! Imagine walking down a sandy beach in the hot sun 25-40 pounds lighter. What do you think of that?

Why We Eat Too Much
The purpose of eating is to nourish our body. Eating too much starts with taste. People like the taste of cookies, chips and ice cream. They like the feeling they get. The comfort. Nobody eats too much broccoli. So eating these foods and overeating good foods can also provide relief and comfort from emotional issues.

Over our lifetime we have learned to deal with a number of emotional issues by eating. We have developed habits. When a certain emotional issue comes up we eat to diffuse it. When our boss says we are behind we might get stressed out and eat a candy bar. When we get fired we might put on weight for awhile. And we go on and develop more habits for more issues.

EXERCISE
This week do a journal when you are tempted to overeat. Write this down as best you can when you are tempted to eat or other times do it in your head.

When: break
Where: work
What's going on: My boss said I had to work late today.
What I did: I listened to some soothing music during my break. Did not eat.

When you have time revisit it and try to find any deeper reasons for the temptation. Which of the above reasons apply here.

Liquids     

 Beware drinks like sodas, alcohol and juice that have lots of calories. So make sure to count up how many calories you are drinking in a day. This could be a good place to reduce them.
