Richard Roe's Celebration of Life

Richard L. Roe, 1936-2014: former Del Mar Mayor, Psychology Today Books Publisher, innovative champion of good causes and joyous living, ever loyal to friends, family and community

Dear friends--

Dick Roe's family, Laurie, Wesley, Debbie, and Troy, and lifelong friends Phil Silverman and Gene Schwartz wish to invite you to a celebration in Dick's memory at Seagrove Park in Del Mar, Sunday, August 17, from 5 PM to sunset.

Our plan is to meet informally to share a pot luck and drinks, and gather round for brief remembrances from Dick's family, friends and associates...all are welcome to share. We know Richard would have wanted this to be a happy event, and we will offer a celebratory toast to his life, at sunset!

While certainly not required, we encourage you to bring a favorite dish, dessert or snack to share. We will have a serving table, paper plates, utensils, cups and ice. We have a wine permit, so feel free to bring your favorite. Also, please bring something to sit on, and maybe a table if you have one.

Dick always loved a great party. It won't be completely the same without his touch, but we hope to live up to the standards he set!

Beyond that, it will also be a moment to call to mind his loyalties and the good works, friendship and affection he shared, which live on in our memories and in our community.

We want to thank the City of Del Mar for granting permission to use Seagrove Park for the occasion.  Any questions, please call Phil Silverman at 760-479-0335

Please forward this to any others you think would like to join us. Of course we welcome anyone who simply wishes to drop by to say hello and pay their respects.

With best wishes,

Laurie David-Roe, Wesley and Debbie Roe, and Troy Houghton,

Phil Silverman and Gene Schwartz
