We are very excited to announce that today is the ribbon cutting ceremony for the bypass, now known as Oxbow Commons. We are also delighted to announce that tickets are on sale for the fourth annual Fork it Over dinner on September 12 to benefit the Napa Food Bank and the Napa Farmers' Market. And one more announcement while we're at it...Oxbow Produce and Grocery will become Hudson Greens and Goods and relocate to a larger space in the main market hall later this month.

"Party with Purpose" at our fourth annual Fork It Over on September 12. Enjoy the best in wine and food at this "only at Oxbow Public Market" evening featuring a reception and "farmers' market-style" walk-around dinner. The meal will be created by Oxbow's artisanal merchants and restaurants serving it up to raise 
funds in support of the Napa County Food Bank and the Napa Farmers' Market. Limited live auction and fund-a-need, followed by dancing under the stars. Tickets are $150 per person, and 100 percent of net proceeds will benefit the Napa Valley Food Bank and the Napa Farmers' Market. Purchase your tickets now.

Oxbow Public Market is proud to play host to the Napa Farmers' Market, which is open every Tuesday and Saturday from 8 am to 12:30 pm (May through October) in the south parking lot across from Oxbow. In addition to farm-direct produce, gourmet food and handmade crafts, the market also features live music, chef demos, children's activities and more. Click here for more information.
OXBOW PRODUCE AND GROCERY TO Hudson Greens & Goods
BECOME HUDSON GREENS AND GOODS
Oxbow Produce and Grocery will become Hudson Greens and Goods and relocate to a larger space in the main market hall. Anticipated to open later this month, Hudson Greens & Goods will continue to specialize in locally sourced, organic fruits and vegetables, with an expanded selection of dry goods and household items. Oxbow Greens & Goods will now offer Hudson Vineyards wines for retail, and will continue to offer an increased selection of cut flowers from The Monkey Flower Group

The expanded juice bar will offer additional menu items, including toasted breads with a variety of house-made spreads, bone broths, prepackaged salads, and other seasonal, farm-based, and convenient grab-n-go offerings. Hudson Greens and Goods will also feature weekly tastings, featuring local farmers and purveyors. With the larger space, Hudson Greens and Goods will now be able to offer a separate checkout station for the juice bar, along with two convenient checkout stations for purchasing grocery items. Hours of operation will be 8 am to 8 pm daily, and 7:30 am to 7 pm for the juice bar.

We're heading into the end of summer, which means grilled corn and fresh-from-the-garden tomatoes! Spice up the end of your summer with Whole Spice flavors! Stop in August 29-31 and receive 20 percent off your entire purchase! Here's a fun Whole Spice recipe to try at your next BBQ: Harissa spiced grilled corn (with husks). Mix 1/2 to 3/4 tsp. Whole Spice harissa spice with 1 Tbs. mayonnaise for each ear of corn. Pull back the corn husks, but do not tear them off. Brush the ears with the harissa mixture and replace the husks. Grill until the husks are crispy.

Chef Matt Shapiro catches and serves creative weekly specials at Hog Island Oyster Bar. An avid fisherman who recently obtained his commercial license, Matt (when not in the kitchen) can be found heading out to sea with rod-and-reel in hand. "Ultimately, I want a hands-on experience with the fish we are serving. From start to finish." Catch this: Marin coast halibut, bean and tomato salad, peach salsa and fresh basil.

Bread, glorious bread is celebrated this month as August is National Sandwich Month. Cate & Co. is delighted about this as they are all about breads, in all shapes, forms and flavors; and with bread come sandwiches. Thanks to the fourth Earl of Sandwich in England, we actually have a sandwich to celebrate ("Sandwich" is actually the name of a place in England). Whether you create your own sandwich from a boule, or a loaf or a baguette, Cate & Co. has what you'll need, and of course it's Gfree. Or, you could feast on one of Cate & Co.'s sandwiches made to order while you debate if "open-faced" is still a sandwich!

The Five Dot Ranch Cookhouse has been open for over a year and they are excited for many more to come! One unique menu item they pride themselves on is the "You Pick it, We Grill It." With this option, you can pick any steak from the meat case and pay the market price then add $12 to have it grilled and paired with two sides. This is a great deal, and delicious with a glass of Round Pond Kith and Ken Cabernet Sauvignon. Also, new this week is a smoked brisket benedict breakfast special.
