What's better with your favorite frosty beverage than a sausage hot off the grill? The Fatted Calf has many beer-friendly meaty eats on its menu but a favorite is the craft beer link, made this week with the rich and malty Drakonic Imperial Stout from Drake's Brewing in San Leandro. This smoky, snappy sausage is a beer's best friend. Eat, drink and enjoy!
Chef Matt Shapiro at Hog Island Oyster Bar is poaching Albacore tuna from Oregon, and serving it with Hog Island-grown lettuces; cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, potatoes, egg, feta and a garlic vinaigrette. The Nicoise salad makes for a perfect savory lunch, or light dinner, for these warm summer nights.

HeartBrand Beef has respected the deep Japanese traditions and embraced the healthy results of raising cattle in a natural environment. Enjoy the beef in steak tacos, salads and nachos.
BEER BREADModel Bakery beer bread
Summer time is beer time and The Model Bakery has you covered! Their beer bread is a yeasty and yummy treat for for your next gathering or backyard BBQ. Made with 100 percent organic white, whole wheat and rye flours, Napa Smith Brewery Pale Ale, spent grain (also from Napa Smith), sea salt and a natural sour starter, this bread has a nice depth of flavor. Pick up a loaf or two!
One backyard BBQ essential always in demand is a versatile red wine, one with enough forward fruit and soft tannins to handle spicy and/or sweet BBQ sauces, but with enough structure to stand up to grilled chicken, steaks, burgers, sausages, etc. Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant (OCWM) has just the ticket: the 2012 Quinta do Cume  from the Douro valley in Portugal. A blend of traditional Portuguese varieties, OCWM discovered it on a buying trip to Portugal, and the wine is available exclusively at OCWM and Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant for $22.
