Locals Night at Oxbow Join us for Locals' Night every Tuesday from 5 to 8 pm at Oxbow Public Market. Meet old friends and new at this weekly gathering and enjoy a mid-week break from cooking at home! UKE-A-PALOOZA AT OXBOW           Uke-a-Palooza
FRIDAY, JULY 31, 6-9 PM
Join us for Uke-a-Palooza, presented by Oxbow Public Market, along with Judd and Holly Finkelstein of Judd's Hill Winery. This special Polynesian evening includes a raffle to benefit Voices of Napa, and a special appearance and performance on the Oxbow River Deck by the Maikai Gents. Polynesian-themed specials will be available from Oxbow merchants, and admission to the family-friendly "Uke-A-Palooza at Oxbow" is FREE.
Merchant Specials This Evening: 
  • Anette's Chocolates: Mauna Kea caramel with sea salt for $1 each. 
  • C CASA: $6 special on a pork taco with pineapple salsa (regularly $7.25), plus a refreshing pineapple agua fresca will be on the menu during the event. 
  • Five Dot Ranch and Cookhouse: Polynesian BBQ (smoked short ribs, back ribs and brisket served with a Polynesian BBQ sauce plus a selection of sides) from the outdoor smoker. 
  • Kara's Cupcakes: Chocolate coconut and vanilla coconut cupcakes adorned with green palm tree special fondant at $3.50 each (only 100 available).
  • Kitchen Door: $3.50 beers from Kona Brewing Company.

Oxbow Public Market is proud to play host to the Napa Farmers' Market, which is open every Tuesday and Saturday from 8 am to 12:30 pm (May through October) in the south parking lot across from Oxbow. What's better on a hot day than an ice-cold glass of beer? There are many options at Oxbow Public Market, most of which rotate an change with the season, including:
  • Napa Smith Pale Ale, Bue Moon, Negro Modello and Laganitas IPA are on tap and Corona and OMission Pale Ale (gluten-free) in the bottle at C CASA.
  • Napa Smith Pilsner, Napa Smith Cool Brew, Anchor Summer Wheat and Anchor IPA on tap at Five Dot Ranch and Cookhouse.
  • Anchor Steam, North Coast Blue Star Wheat, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Trumer Pilsner, Lagunitas IPA, Stella Artois and Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA on draft at Gott's Roadside, along with a fun mix of bottled and canned beers (some highlights are Drake's 1500 Pale Ale, Firestone Walker Double Barrel Ale, Saint Archer White Ale, Ballast Point Sculpin IPA and Ruhstaller 1881 Sacramento Red Ale).
  • Trumer Pilsner, Firestone Pale 31, Stone Arrogant Bastard and Calicraft Brewing Co. Oaktown Brown Ale on tap at Hog Island Oyster Bar.
  • Eight beer taps in rotation, all focused on west coast breweries at Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant (OCWM). In addition to pints on tap, OCWM offers 8-ounce glasses (a perfect lunch portion). Current offerings are Lagunitas Little Sumpin' Ale, Bear Republic Racer 5 IPA, Drake's Amber, Deschutes Chain Breaker White IPA, Dale's Pale Ale, 21st Amendment Hell or High Watermelon Wheat, North Coast Brewing Scrimshaw Pilsner and Heretic Evil Twin. OCWM also gets a little Pliny the Elder each week from Russian River Brewing (it usually arrives Monday and is gone by Wednesday).
  • Want it to go? Oxbow Produce carries a wonderful selection of California crafted micro brews.The summer selection features First Amendment's Hell or High Watermelon Wheat, Anderson Valley's Summer Solstice, Ballast Point's Grapefruit Sculpin, and a not-so-local but favorite brewer, Dogfish Head's Festina a Peache, and many more.

CRAFT BEER LINKS Fatted Calf craft beer dogs
What's better with your favorite frosty beverage than a sausage hot off the grill? The Fatted Calf has many beer-friendly meaty eats on its menu but a favorite is the craft beer link, made this week with the rich and malty Drakonic Imperial Stout from Drake's Brewing in San Leandro. This smoky, snappy sausage is a beer's best friend. Eat, drink and enjoy!
FRESH NICOISE SALAD Hog Island Nicoise
Chef Matt Shapiro at Hog Island Oyster Bar is poaching Albacore tuna from Oregon, and serving it with Hog Island-grown lettuces; cucumbers, tomatoes, green beans, potatoes, egg, feta and a garlic vinaigrette. The Nicoise salad makes for a perfect savory lunch, or light dinner, for these warm summer nights.
100 PERCENT BEEF HOT DOGS Five Dot hotdogs
As the BBQ season continues, Five Dot Ranch Ranch has you covered! Try their 100 percent beef, all natural, nitrate and nitrite-free hotdogs and hot links. Stop by the Cookhouse to order a hot dog with all the fixings, or buy a pack of five for $9.99 from their meat case. Five Dot also has many other BBQ favorites to try including ground beef, tri-tip, Korean short ribs, rib eyes, and more!
JULY SPECIALS AT GOTT'S             Gott's pulled pork and Mex corn
Stop by Gott's Roadside to try their July specials: a BBQ pulled pork sandwich served with American slaw on a toasted egg bun, Mexican grilled corn (Elote) with cotija cheese, chili powder and a lime wedge, and a hand-spun blueberry shake made with Three Twins Ice Cream.
100 PERCENT AKAUSKI BEEF   C CASA Akauski Beef
Always looking for ways to improve quality, C CASA is now serving 100 percent Akauski beef from Heartbrand Beef Company. Texas-raised Akaushi cattle are 100 percent pure bred and are direct descendants of the Mount Aso region's revered Akaushi herds, a national treasure and protected breed by the government of Japan. BEER BREADModel Bakery beer bread
Summer time is beer time and The Model Bakery has you covered! Their beer bread is a yeasty and yummy treat for for your next gathering or backyard BBQ. Made with 100 percent organic white, whole wheat and rye flours, Napa Smith Brewery Pale Ale, spent grain (also from Napa Smith), sea salt and a natural sour starter, this bread has a nice depth of flavor. Pick up a loaf or two!
WINE FROM PORTUGALQuinta do Cume
One backyard BBQ essential always in demand is a versatile red wine, one with enough forward fruit and soft tannins to handle spicy and/or sweet BBQ sauces, but with enough structure to stand up to grilled chicken, steaks, burgers, sausages, etc. Oxbow Cheese & Wine Merchant (OCWM) has just the ticket: the 2012 Quinta do Cume  from the Douro valley in Portugal. A blend of traditional Portuguese varieties, OCWM discovered it on a buying trip to Portugal, and the wine is available exclusively at OCWM and Ferry Plaza Wine Merchant for $22.
