Congratulations to Sebastian Eilert on his new radio show! ArchiTalk - a new radio program coming to 880 am The Biz on Mondays at 11 a.m. Jane ("the Grove Architect") and Sebastian Eilert, ("the German Architect") will be hosting the program and talking about architecture, design, sustainability and more.
The shows will revolve around a central theme for each episode. Topics will include Additions & Renovations, Corporate Architect & Tenant Improvements, Historic Preservation, Condos Q&A, Careers In Architecture, Architectural Education, Green Building, Disaster Preparedness, etc. The program layout will incorporate several segments including a current events section, hot topics and trends, an interview segment, Green Tips, Q&A, and more. The vision of Avenues of Excellence is the brain-child of two women, Rose Hedgemond
and Jeanette Chambers.
Avenues of Excellence, Inc., incorporated in 2009, founded on the passion and principles of educating and inspiring youth and adults. Offering a variety of avenues for enhancement, AOE specializes in training of social (etiquette) skills, communication skills, image projection (self identification) skills, Work Force Readiness, pre & post- college support (scholarship awards) to name a few.
Rose, a wife to Pastor Mark Hedgemond and mother of (2) girls, is busy with not just family life but she also maintains a full-time job with a fortune 500 insurance company. Jeanette, a Pastor herself, former English Teacher, with over 15 years of legal experience, at one of S. Miami's most prestigious Law Firms and executive to a number of other organizations has a full plate as well. Passionate about helping people change is nothing new to Jeanette, she thrives by helping others improve themselves and their lives.

Recorded four decades ago at a time when the country was deeply troubled by issues of race and war, Coltrane's music was a personal statement of redemption and salvation that struck a chord in the hearts of millions, becoming one of the most enduring jazz recordings of all time. Turtle Island Quartet continues its tradition of employing the string quartet form to shed new light on the timeless joy and beauty contained in the greatest music of the American jazz masters.

Fleet Week 2012 - Tour of Navy Ships
"Fleet Week 2012-Port Everglades, presented by HUMANA MILITARY HEALTHCARE SERVICES", will take place April 25 - April 30, 2012.
Tours of the ships will be available on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday (April 26, 27, 28, and 29). Tours will run daily starting at 9 AM - with the last tour at 1530 (3:30 PM) and last approximately 30 to 45 minutes. (Note: no 11, 11:30 AM or 1, 1:30 PM tours on Wednesday, no morning tours on Sunday, but evening hours available on Thursday).
You will be limited to touring one ship. Plan on being at the port at least 30 minutes ahead of the scheduled tour time. Please note that the ships are not handicap accessible and require you to be in good physical condition to navigate the steep ladders and stairways. The minimum age is 8 years.
REGISTRATION WILL CLOSE AS SOON AS ALL SPACES ARE FILLED AND NO LATER THAN MONDAY, APRIL 16th. Click here for more information and registration.
