Joshua House Receives Quality Childcare Rating Center Rated a High Quality Program |
MACON, GEORGIA - December 17, 2014- Joshua House Early Care and Learning Center, the childcare initiative of Out and Up, Inc., was notified on yesterday that it received a Quality Rating designation from the Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. This new rating confirms that Joshua House has met quality standards that exceed the standard child care licensure requirements set by the State of Georgia. Additionally, participation in the program confirms Joshua House's commitment to improving the quality of care it provides to young children.
 After participating in a rigorous evaluation process, Joshua House was designated as a 3 star program. According to the Quality Rated Program officials, " A star rating - regardless if it is one, two or three stars - indicates a higher quality program." Joshua House is one of six Quality Rated childcare centers located in Bibb County.
The Quality Rating provides Joshua House with a bonus package of $1000.00 to the center for program improvements, two scholarships for employees to the Georgia Association for Young Children Conference, and small financial bonuses to teachers and the center director. In addition, the center will receive financial incentives due to its participation in the Georgia Child Care and Parent Program.
Says Executive Director, Patricia Walker, "We are ecstatic about this designation. The center director, Sheila Rivers, and the entire staff have worked very hard over the past year or so to make this achievement a reality. Participating in this process shows the families that we serve, as well as the community at large that we are understand and appreciate the role of early care and learning in creating a vibrant community."
