Mayors Come Together on Economic Growth
Since January, Greater Victoria mayors have been discussing local efforts at economic development. This week, they met again, this time to discuss forming an organization funded and governed by all municipalities, interested post-secondary institutions, First Nations as well as the private sector. The aim is to launch the new organization in April 2016.  More in news release and in Greater Victoria Development Agency's detailed proposal.

Greater Victoria Labour Force
According to StatsCan's recent release, the workforce for Victoria metropolitan area has increased slightly from 189,300 in August to 190,700 in September.

Across Canada, employment grew by 33,000 in information, culture and recreation in September, bringing employment up 36,000 (+4.9%) over the past 12 months.
