Introducing Gilliam Place  gilliam

In 2012, the Arlington Presbyterian Church (APC) decided to rethink how they could best live out their mission to serve their community and neighbors in need. After a thoughtful discernment process, the church determined to redevelop their aging church site to provide affordable housing.

As a result, APAH and APC have worked together to design the 173-unit Gilliam Place, a 100% affordable APAH property for families, couples, seniors and persons with disabilities. The proposed property will include ground floor retail space and onsite resident services.

The Gilliam Place proposal is scheduled to be heard by the Arlington County Board for Form Based Code approvals and an Affordable Housing Investment Fund (AHIF) allocation in December 2015.

Going Green at Columbia Groveaire

APAH is thinking green at our Columbia Grove Apartments. In 2006, this 208-unit property used over 15 million gallons of water each year. In 2009, we partnered with the Arlington Initiative to Rethink Energy (AIRE) to install new efficient fixtures to reduce water usage and residents' utility costs.

The results are in: since 2010, we have saved 12.8 million gallons of water and $158,000! Thanks to AIRE for this partnership that is helping our residents, our community and our planet! Click here for the report.
