On April 15, APAH introduced our 2015 Affordable Housing Honorees: Bill Fogarty and Mark Silverwood. Bill Fogarty is an Arlington resident and shareholder at the law firm Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley & Walsh, who has served APAH and the Arlington community for more than two decades. Mark Silverwood, President and CEO of Silverwood Companies, was an early partner with Arlington County on committed affordable housing development. "It is an honor to receive this award from APAH. I have watched APAH grow from a small nonprofit to an innovative, efficient organization that speaks for the needs of low income Arlingtonians and provides quality, stable housing for over 2,500 Arlington residents," said Fogarty. Said Silverwood, "We believe in building strong, vibrant communities that meet the needs of a mix of incomes and family sizes. I am proud to support APAH's work and to provide opportunity and wellness for Arlington residents." Click here for the full News Release. Click here for photos from the event.

 Volunteer Spotlight:
Rock Spring Congregational United Church of Christ
Last month, members of Rock Spring Congregational United Church of Christ supported APAH residents as part of their Fifth Sunday Service program. These volunteers prepared more than 200 goodie bags, which were passed out to children at APAH's Spring Egg Hunts, and assembled over 30 welcome baskets of cleaning and laundry supplies for new APAH residents to receive as they move into their homes. Members also engaged in advocacy service by writing letters to County leadership to encourage supporting budget priorities that keep housing affordable.
Thank you to Rock Spring and everyone who helped with these projects!

Young Residents Celebrate Spring
Young residents welcomed the warm weather with Spring Egg Hunts at five APAH properties during spring break. The events each included an outdoor egg hunt and goodie bags filled with prizes and snacks and celebrations in the community room.
A special thanks goes to Capital One for generously donating plastic eggs filled with treats, and to volunteers from Rock Spring Church for assembling goodie bags for all participants!

Visions of Home. As a result, original artwork will be displayed and enjoyed in community and reception areas at Arlington Mill Residences. We look forward to these beautiful pieces!
