2015 International Programs annual report released

Spring Study Abroad Fair, January 27
 
Study Abroad invites all UI students to discover short-term and faculty-led study abroad programs during the Study Abroad Fair. Whether interested in studying, working, interning, or volunteering, students will have the opportunity to talk to study abroad advisors, faculty program directors, and former student participants.

Commencement ceremony commentary offered in Chinese, Korean, and Spanish

For the enjoyment of friends and family members of international students who were not able to attend the event in person, videos from the fall 2015 undergraduate combined commencement ceremony featuring commentary in Chinese, Korean, and Spanish are available online. 

ReCap:  WorldCanvass show on Cuba

On December 17, 2014, U.S. President Obama and Cuban President Castro announced a new era of openness and interaction between their two countries. On December 8, 2015, Joan Kjaer and her WorldCanvass guests discussed "Cuba:  Yesterday, Today, and Tomorrow" as the one-year anniversary approached. Global education institute for teachers
On December 5-6, International Programs hosted the Global Education Institute for Teachers in partnership with the Stanley Foundation. The annual professional development workshop is offered to Iowa's K-12 teachers, with an aim of increasing educators' awareness of and capacity to teach concepts and skills necessary for developing globally-minded students. Rose Bowl viewing party!
 International Programs hosted a Rose Bowl viewing party for international students and scholars. Michael Bortscheller, assistant director of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), provided commentary for those in attendance unfamiliar with American football. Check out other community, academic, and cultural resources offered to international students and scholars!
