Tideline makes way for the Bard's battle of the sexes |
Congratulations to the cast and crew of Tideline, which completed its run this past weekend. What the critics had to say:
" Glad I caught @HHTheatre prod of TIDELINE. Powerful, poetic, moving play abt personal and collective loss. Fine ensemble. Final show tonite." - Glenn Sumi, NOW Magazine
"As Syrian refugees search for a place to call home, crossing dangerous seas to find safety, Tideline is an important play for Canadians." - Mooney On Theatre
"Tideline is a powerful production of a great Canadian play that takes on timeless issues in a poetic and deeply moving manner." - David Bateman Reviews
"Tideline isn't your average play at all. One adjective won't suffice, so I'll use four: poetic, obscure, intense, and abstract. This is a play that brims with significance and urges you to confront the harsh concepts it puts forth." - Hailey Mason, The Medium
Next up is William Shakespeare's popular comedy, Much Ado About Nothing, directed by Hart House Theatre returnee, Carly Chamberlain
Originally from Toronto, Carly recently returned home after two years in Montreal completing the Directing Program at the National Theatre School of Canada. Also a graduate of the University of Windsor's BFA Acting program, she began her career as an actor, including three seasons with Halifax's Shakespeare by the Sea. For those who have attended Hart House Theatre seasons in the past, you will recognize Carly from her stage appearances as Helena in A Midsummer Night's Dream (2009) and Portia in Julius Caesar (2007). Her most celebrated work on our stage, however, was her direction of the critically acclaimed Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet).
