We're going Into the Woods for the New Year
Opening in less than three weeks is our musical selection for the 2015/2016 Season, Into the Woods. The set is being installed, the costumes are being sourced or built and the cast has returned to rehearsals. Here's a small taste of what's coming in January:

The actors bringing iconic characters to life
Hart House Theatre has earned the reputation of showcasing the city's best emergent talent. Year after year, our stage attracts well-trained performers that wow audiences before moving on to build professional careers. Below are just a few of the amazing artists lending their talents to Into the Woods.

Saphire DemitroReturning to Hart House Theatre after stand-out appearances in Jesus Christ Superstar and The Great American Trailer Park Musical is powerhouse performer, Saphire Demitro. Saphire plays the Witch, a role made famous by Bernadette Peters, and stands poised to give the role a fresh take. Saphire received training through the St. Clair College Musical Theatre program and has been amazing Toronto audiences ever since.

Michelle NashMaking her début appearance on the Hart House Theatre stage is Michelle Nash. Michelle received her training from the Theatre and Drama Studies program at Sheridan College and the University of Toronto Mississauga, and continues to study voice with Yoriko Tanno. Michelle takes on the role of the quintessential rags-to-riches bride, the shoe-challenged Cinderella.

Amy Swift New to Hart House Theatre is New York and Los Angeles trained performer, Amy Swift. Amy lends her clear, resonant and operatic voice to the role of The Baker's Wife. Amy has worked with several companies from across North America and recently in Toronto with the Solar Stage and the Lower Ossington Theatre.

James KingTenor James King returns to Hart House Theatre in the role of The Baker. Last seen in the role of Peter in Jesus Christ Superstar, James has experience with several companies from around Ontario and his strong, emotional voice fits perfectly with this demanding role.
