We the Family makes good on the tagline: "Multicultural Mayhem. Love. Larceny. And death!" |
The theatre was stuffed with laughter this weekend as we opened our season with We the Family. playing until October 3, don't miss what audiences are calling "a hilarious look at familial dysfunction and cultural conflict." More audience feedback:
"Don't miss this gem!"
"It just escalated and escalated in the best way possible!"
"Funny and smart"
"Hilarious. I laughed throughout. I was uncomfortable with the racial humour at first, but it worked really - the satire came across no matter which cultural group you belong to."
"Very clever, sharp humour...characters that you love to hate!"
"Fabulous. Walker at his best once again."
"Walker's finest work: it is both endlessly relatable and completely over-the-top; sharp yet sympathetic; dark and macabre without verging on sentimental pathos. As a family member in 2015, you must see this play."
"We The Family is a hilarious, thoughtful night out! What are you waiting for?"
"Had a great time tonight...Don't miss this wonderful world premiere."
"We the Family at Hart House Theatre was amazing...Get tickets!!"
"Go see this, well worth your time and money. It's also a world premiere of a brand new play, pretty awesome."
"A packed house, a script featuring nutty but mostly loveable characters and lots of zingers, and solid performances = a fabulous opening night! And the playwright was in the house to hear the audience's enthusiastic response. Congratulations on the world premiere - have a great run, everyone!"
