Hart House Theatre Announces
its 2015/2016 Season

Toronto, Ontario - Hart House Theatre, the University of Toronto's Performing Arts Leader Since 1919, is proud to announce its 2015/2016 season. This season's line-up is a diverse mix of classical and contemporary work as Hart House Theatre continues its tradition of producing affordable, accessible, high-quality productions for downtown Toronto audiences. The season features the world premiere of a Canadian play, Shakespeare's iconic tragedy, a beloved musical twist on classic fairy tales and - here's the cherry on top - an adaptation of a popular French farce.

Multicultural mayhem. Love. Larceny. And death!

By George F. Walker

Directed by Andrea Wasserman

World Premiere

Two families collide in this dark comedy written by acclaimed Canadian playwright, George F. Walker. Known for his wit and biting commentary on city living, Walker's We the Family looks at the after-effects of a wedding between culturally divergent families. As they struggle to understand one another, their own failings and bad choices set them on a collision course with a devastating - and hilarious - end.

Perhaps the world's most iconic tragedy, William Shakespeare's Hamlet has all of the elements of a great drama: courtly intrigue, murder, revenge, family betrayal and forbidden seduction. With some of the most memorable and sublime poetry in the English language, Hamlet is a timeless tragedy that is not to be missed.
