2012/2013 general slide
Greetings!

This past Saturday we closed the third production in our 2012/2013 season, Romeo and Juliet. We are thrilled with all the fantastic reviews (including NNNN from NOW Magazine) the show received and how well it went over with the audience. What a great way to end 2012!

We are already rehearsing our January production of Robin Hood: The Legendary Musical Comedy and we can't wait to get this hilarious new Canadian musical in front of an audience. We sat down with the show's director, Jesse MacLean, for a quick chat. We've included the video in this month's enewsletter.

We may be deep in rehearsal mode, but the Hart House Theatre stage is not quiet! St. Michael's College Student Union opens Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd this Friday. Full details can be found below.

We're talking Robin Hood: The Legendary Musical Comedy with director Jesse MacLean!

A long time ago, in a distant and troubled land, the poor and oppressed cried out for a hero. What they got was a Legend. Hart House Theatre is proud to present the hilarious and thrilling Canadian musical, Robin Hood: The Legendary Musical Comedy

We caught up with director Jesse MacLean to chat about the show.

Now on stage at Hart House Theatre - Sweeney Todd

Stephen Sondheim's masterpiece, Sweeney Todd, explores the depths of depravity in Victorian London's seedy side streets, in a musical overflowing with brilliant wit and dark humor.

In this landmark musical, the barber Sweeney Todd embarks upon a savage quest for justice and retribution after years of false imprisonment, aided by the admiring harridan pie shop owner Mrs. Lovett.

Combining comic turns, chilling drama, music hall-style numbers, and hauntingly beautiful romantic songs, Sweeney Todd is a fascinating portrait of a man driven to acts of madness by overwhelming injustice.
