Dia News
January  2013

Dear Friends,

I wish you all a happy and healthy new year.  As I write this note, all of us at Dia are looking forward to a busy season filled with many programs that highlight our collection and commitment to artists.

I want to encourage you to visit Dia:Beacon this season to re-acquaint yourself with a handful of important works from our collection that are returning to public view.  Later this month, we are very pleased to welcome back to Dia:Beacon Andy Warhol's Shadows, following its national tour.  We are also excited to share that we are reinstalling works by Bernd and Hilla Becher and Donald Judd.

In New York City, we will present Artists on Artists Lectures and Readings in Contemporary Poetry on Monday evenings. Also, we look ahead to Summer 2013 when we will present Thomas Hirschhorn's Gramsci Monument, a temporary, outdoor project dedicated to the writer and political theorist Antonio Gramsci.

I hope you will visit the The Dan Flavin Art Institute in Bridgehampton to view our new temporary exhibition of six rarely known metal paintings by John Chamberlain from 1965 and a sculpture from the same year.  The Dan Flavin Art Institute is open on Saturday and Sunday in the winter, and is always free.

All of these programs would not be possible without the support and enthusiasm of our members, who share our commitment to advancing, preserving, and realizing the visions of artists.  We hope you will consider becoming a member and supporting Dia in 2013.  Members enjoy free admission to Dia:Beacon and discounts on lectures and performances, as well as many other benefits.

I look forward to seeing you at one of our programs in 2013.

Yours sincerely,

Philippe Vergne
