August 10 2014

For the past week, FUMC Allen has been filled to capacity with children, youth, and adults who are celebrating another year of Vacation Bible School. This year's theme was SHINE, and we saw an abundance of bright blinged-out T-shirts and hundreds of bright faces shining with the love of Christ.

We hope you'll be in worship this Sunday as we celebrate the victories of the past week: lives committed to Jesus, songs learned to praise His name, socks donated for the upcoming Back to School Bash, and a boisterous round of Penny Wars that pitted the boys against the girls!

VBS cannot happen without the support of the crew leaders and their assistants who escorted the children around the building, the teachers who taught Bible stories, crafts, and music as well as all of those who helped behind the scenes: volunteers who brought food and drink to keep us nourished and strong, those who prepared all that wonderful food, and the parents and grandparents who brought their children to the church everyday. Thanks to those who donated all those pennies (and other change) and to those who counted all those pennies! A special thanks to all of our leaders who have committed most of their year to planning and executing such an exciting week.

Will we see you this Sunday? You won't want to miss it.
