Vacation Bible School time is upon us, and this is a final reminder that registration will close on Friday, August 1, at 12:00pm. If you have already registered your child or you have registered as a volunteer, you can pick up your VBS T-shirts in the north hallway this Sunday. We also have the opportunity for everyone to sign up for snack donations.

SHINE VBS, August 4-8 from 9:00am-12:30pm, is one of FUMC Allen's biggest outreach programs of the year. This week-long activity is for children entering pre-K by 9/1/2014 through grade 6.  The registration fee is $25 per child.

We do need more teen and adult volunteers, and all volunteers are required to attend a training session on either Sunday, July 27, or Sunday, August 3, at 12:15pm in Fellowship Hall.

To volunteer or register your child, visit us online or pick up registration forms from the table in the east entrance. Any questions should be directed to Children's Ministry Director Mary Freeman, MaryF@fumcallen.org.

If you need or want an all-day option for your child, consider enrolling them in the TRIUMPH ALL STAR SPORTS & GAMES recreational camp for kids, grades K-6. All Star Camp begins at 1:30pm, Monday, August 4-Thursday, August 7, each day right after VBS. If you register your child in both VBS and Sports Camp, you just need to pack a lunch, drop your child at VBS at 9:00am, and pick them up at 4:30pm. All Star Sports & Games is $70 per child, which includes a camp T-shirt. To register online, click HERE. Questions? Contact Greg Schell, GregS@fumcallen.org.

Purchase tickets this Sunday for FUMC Allen's production of this Broadway classic starring our own Doug Smetzer, Kim Mathews, Caryn Fecht, and Penny Chinn.

Tickets are $15 for shows this Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday at 7:00pm in the sanctuary.

Arrive early and enjoy a klezmer concert in the labyrinth at 6:30pm.

Book Drive

The Project Transformation day camp program in Dennison, where our intern Cara Brazeal has been working this summer, has about 30 youth in attendance. The program has only a few books available to give to these older kids before they go back to school. Camp organizers are looking for donations of any middle school/young adult books, new or used. Some specific requests include "Divergent," "Fault in our Stars," "The Giver," and "The Book Thief."

Please bring your donations to Carrie Brazeal from 9:15am-11:00am on Sunday, July 27! Look for her in the gathering area. You can also email her at c-brazeal@tamu.edu or call her at 214.686.7138 to make other arrangements. However, all books must be received by July 27 in order to have them in Dennison by July 29.

Thank you for all of your support of Project Transformation!
