For the past 19 years, Allen Community Outreach's CHRISTMAS IN JULY capital campaign has been the means for our community to raise the critical financial resources needed to make a direct, positive impact on those families seeking assistance for basic human and social services in Allen, Fairview, and Lucas.

On Communion Sunday, July 6, we'll have donation envelopes available in the Sunday worship bulletin. You can make your gift on that Sunday or any Sunday in July.

TRIUMPH DODGE BALL CAMP, 8:30am-11:30am, is for kids, grades K-6, who want to learn and play the classic game of dodge ball! Youth Summer Mission Trip

On July 18, many of our youth begin a journey to MOUNTAIN T.O.P. in Tennessee. On Sunday, those youth are distributing an assignment for you to complete before their commissioning on July 13. We hope you accept this small task of encouragement as our youth prepare for their summer mission activity. Contact Eric Pugh.

TRIUMPH ALL STAR SPORTS & GAMES camp engages kids, grades K-6, in a new sport every day! Camp runs from 1:30pm-4:30pm, Mon-Thu. Register your child in both VBS and All Star, pack a lunch, drop them off at 9:00am, and pick them up at 4:30pm. $70 fee includes a T-shirt. Contact Greg Schell.

BASKETBALL CAMPS

Recreational Ministry has added two UPWARD BASKETBALL CAMPS to their summer schedule: July 21-25, 9:00am-12:30pm, for children entering grades K & 1 and 4:00pm-7:30pm for children entering grades 4-6. $75 includes camp shirt, water bottle, and a basketball. Tell your friends about these new summer camp opportunities, and register online before July 10. Contact Greg Schell.

LEGAL AID CLINIC
The Legal Aid clinic on June 12 impacted the lives of 36 client families with the help of 8 attorneys and 16 other volunteers. Year to date, the clinic has helped 213 families with pro-bono legal aid, assistance, advice, and fellowship. The next clinic is July 10 at 6:00pm in the Fellowship Hall. The Sojourner Sunday School class has volunteered to provide the snack supper. If you have any questions or suggestions for the clinic, contact Kim Klieger, 972.679.7768.

Stewardship

TEACHERS WANTED

Our children need Sunday school teachers this summer! Volunteer at either 9:30am or 11:00am for the session running from June 8-August 30. This short-term commitment is perfect for couples or families. Contact Mary Freeman.

Bridgeport Camp

Please keep in your prayers our senior high youth and their adult counselors who will be attending summer church camp at the Bridgeport Camp and Conference Center June 30-July 5.

As Christians, we are called to go OUT into the world to do the work of Christ. At FUMC Allen, we track the hours our members IMPACT the community working as volunteers for various service organizations, such as Allen Community Outreach, schools, sport teams, scouts, and more.

Our year-to-date hours for 2014 are 1,653.

Report your service hours on the registration form found in your Sunday bulletin, or email your hours to Elizabeth Fairchild.

Children's Creative Playday

Playday preschool is now enrolling for the 2014-2015 school year with programs for children 18 months through transitional kindergarten. The office is open 9:00am-1:00pm during the summer. Contact Maureen Bowman, 972.396.7575, to schedule an appointment.
