As Christians, we are called to GO OUT into the world to do the work of Christ. At FUMC Allen, we have been tracking the hours that our members impact the community when they volunteer their time working with various service organizations, such as Allen Community Outreach, schools, sport teams, Scouts, and more.

So far in 2014, we have logged 1,560 hours of community service.

You can report your service hours on your registration form found in this bulletin every Sunday. If you are looking for volunteer opportunities consider teaching Sunday School, volunteer for an Upward Sports Camp or Vacation Bible School, or help out in the church office. Need more ideas? Follow us on Facebook where we regularly post ideas you and your family can help make an impact in our community. Here's just one example: 15 Summer Serving Ideas for Your Family.

Keep up the great work, and join us as we watch those numbers grow.

Sunday, June 22, is your last chance to purchase tickets in the gathering area for the June 28 FRISCO ROUGHRIDERS GAME at 7:00pm at Dr. Pepper Ballpark when the Chancel Choir sings the National Anthem. $25 ticket includes unlimited hot dogs, brats, soda, and a ball cap. Contact Greg Schell.

FREE CONCERT: SUMMER SONGS 2014 The Christ United Methodist Church Sanctuary Choir & Orchestra present their annual Celebration of American Music concert, featuring selections from Titanic, The Wizard of Oz, Casablanca, Breakfast at Tiffany's, and Frozen as well as hymns and patriotic favorites. 7:00pm. TEACHERS WANTED

Our children need Sunday school teachers this summer! Volunteer at either 9:30am or 11:00am for the session running from June 8-August 30. This short-term commitment is perfect for couples or families. Contact Mary Freeman.

INSTRUMENTALISTS NEEDED

TRIUMPH DODGE BALL CAMP, 8:30am-11:30am, is for kids, grades K-6, who want to learn and play the classic game of dodge ball! Campers are taught the fundamentals of throwing and catching along with daily devotions and other games. $70 fee includes T-shirt. Contact Greg Schell.

UPWARD BASKETBALL CAMP 2nd-3rd grade 9am-12pm

TRIUMPH ALL STAR SPORTS & GAMES camp engages kids, grades K-6, in a new sport every day! Camp runs from 1:30pm-4:30pm, Mon-Thu. Register your child in both VBS and All Star, pack a lunch, drop them off at 9:00am, and pick them up at 4:30pm. $70 fee includes a T-shirt. Contact Greg Schell.

Register NOW for SHINE VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL from 9:00am-12:30pm, for children entering pre-K by 9/1/2014 through grade 6. Early registration is $20 per child until July 15 when prices increase to $25. Sign up online or pick up forms from the table in the east entrance. Contact Mary Freeman.
