Rabbi Daniel Goldfarb visits from the Conservative Yeshiva | | |
Tuesday, February 12, 5:30 PM
Come learn with Rabbi Goldfarb and learn about the Conservative Yeshiva in preparation for Purim.
Occupy Shushan: Purim as Social Revolution. For Purim we focus on the dramatic story of Esther, Mordechai, Ahashveros and Haman, but rarely study what happens after Haman's plot is foiled. We'll look at the end of the Megilla to see how the holiday we celebrate developed, and the great lesson of Jewish values hidden there. No background necessary.
Rabbi Daniel C. Goldfarb, Director of the Conservative Yeshiva, Jerusalem, is a graduate of Harvard College and Columbia Law School and received his M.H.L. and Rabbinic Ordination from the Jewish Theological Seminary. He worked for 25 years as an attorney for Israel's Ministries of Justice and Finance and in private practice in Jerusalem before joining the Conservative Yeshiva in 2000. He teaches Liturgy, the Jewish Calendar andPirkei Avot.
