A Note from the Office of Alumni Relations
|
The academic year is in full swing and the campus is alive day and night.
On September 4, Sister R. Patricia Fadden, IHM, Ed.D., welcomed the Class of 2018 during the annual University Welcome. This was followed by the Student Involvement Fair and Mac's Birthday Bash.
A blessing of the West Campus apartments took place on September 9 followed by tours for all to enjoy.
Thursday, September 11 marked the 13th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on our country. A prayer service was held at the flagpole in front of Villa Maria Hall at 9AM where veterans from the Norristown Catholic Veterans Post 1182 presented an American flag to Immaculata University. An additional prayer service took place in the lobby of Loyola Hall that evening.
The 100th Anniversary celebration of Villa Maria Hall took place on September 14. Over 200 alumni, parents, friends, faculty, staff, and students attended the celebration. To view photos from the event, visit the Alumni facebook page. Not only did we celebrate the 100th Anniversary of our hallmark building, we also celebrated the presence of alumna Mercita Loyola Brett Kane '35, who will turn 100 years old later this month. Mercita lived in Villa Maria Hall when it started as a boarding school, then high school, and finally college. She is the niece of our first President, Mother M. Loyola, IHM. Happy 100th Birthday Mercita! We were honored to have you and your family with us to celebrate.

The Infant of Prague
