Happy Labor Day!
As summer begins to wind down, we hope you have been enjoying the beautiful weather.
Freshmen move-in day took place on August 22; you can view photos from the day on the Immaculata University Facebook Page, here. Our future alumni, the Class of 2018, have not wasted any time and spent last weekend participating in a community service project for the First Year Experience (FYE) program. Nine Catholic grade schools located within the City of Philadelphia were the beneficiaries of this volunteer project. Read more

Did You Know...
Construction of Villa Maria Hall proceeded slowly between 1908 and 1914. The first interruption came when it was determined that the land had no water supply. Mother Camilla's response to this distressing news was to gather the Sisters to pray a novena. Before the novena had ended, surveyors discovered not one, but two artesian water wells on the property.
|
Mighty Mac Trivia
Who did the Sisters pray a novena to before water was discovered on the property? (Hint: There is a shrine on back campus and a statue on the Terrace level of Nazareth Hall)
Send us an email with your answer!
Replies will be entered into a monthly drawing for a prize; don't forget to include your contact information!
|
And the Answer is...
In the last edition of "Highlights from the Hill" we asked the following: After learning of the beautiful hilltop location in Chester County, Mother Camilla had to persuade farmers and their families to sell their land to the Sisters. How many farms did the Sisters purchase?
Answer:
Eight
Thank you to all who participated!
