A Note from the Office of Alumni Relations

Basketball legends from all over descended upon Springfield, MA last weekend for the enshrinement of the Class of 2014 into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. Following a red carpet event, our very own Mighty Macs basketball teams of '72, '73, and '74 took center stage to receive the ultimate honor in basketball. Theresa Shank Grentz '74 spoke on behalf of the team. The NBA-TV network provided live coverage of this spectacular evening, and our Mighty Macs looked dazzling! Congratulations once again to our legendary Mighty Macs players on all of their accomplishments! (click below to view video)

Did You Know...
When Mother M. Camilla Maloney, IHM, Mother General of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in West Chester, followed God's call to create a Catholic college for women, she purchased farmland in 1906 on our present site in Chester County. Ground was broken for Villa Maria Hall in 1908, and Villa Maria Academy opened on the site in 1914. It was in 1920 that the institution was granted a college charter.
