FROM THE GROUND UP
THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT NEWSLETTER

The Fall Campus Clean Up event is an opportunity to dispose of items no longer useful to your department. Now is the time to tell your building community to take a moment to identify items that have past useful life.  The Clean Up is sponsored by Buildings and Grounds Maintenance (BGM) in conjunction with Peninsula Sanitary Service Inc. (PSSI).  Surplus Sales will be at collection sites from October 11th through November 10th, with sites available on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  You can also write a work order to Events Services for moving help at no cost to your department (up to $500).  More information with dates and maps is located at http://bgm.stanford.edu/fall_cleanup

LBRE has been working with Stanford Web Services since February to redesign our web sites.  The purpose for this upgrade is to combine all LBRE departments into one site and to keep current in web design.  The goal is to make it easier for you to find what you need.  Whether you are looking for information, how to contact an LBRE staff member, or to find service related requests, LBRE will be a one portal web site.  The launch date is scheduled for later this fall.

Learn about how you can get involved in sustainability this fall. The Office of Sustainability will give an overview of the annual Cardinal Green Buildings energy conservation campaign, which will include the building sustainability performance ratings for the first time. The presentation will also provide results and future planning details about the My Cardinal Green pilot program, which many building managers participated in this summer.  And we will discuss details to prepare you for Winter Closure 2016.
Energy Fact:
In 2015, Stanford saved enough energy to power Stanford Stadium for 62 years! Contribute to Stanford's energy savings by reminding everyone in your building to turn lights off and power down equipment at night.
