THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT NEWSLETTER
The new BGM work request form goes live today, February 1st
The new work request form is mobile-device friendly and has many new enhancements such as simplified data entry, and account approver listing. If you missed the training last month, you can view the Power Point presentation slides on the BGM web site, under Announcements.  If you need help, contact your Zone Administrator or the LBRE Operations Center lbreoperations@stanford.edu.

Parents Weekend takes place this month, starting Friday, February 26th through Saturday, February 27th. Various events will be taking place for parents across campus. For more information visit their website.

The 2016 Annual Building Manager's Meeting is scheduled for March 22nd, again at McCaw Hall. We will send a formal
invitation to you in February.  Speakers include Leslie Kramer,
Associate Director Energy Retrofit Programs, Gerry Hamilton, Director - Facilities Energy Management Esther Cole, Conservation Program Assistant Manager, Catherine Palter, Associate Vice President, Land Use and Environmental Planning, and Russell Furr, Deputy Director of EH&S. Laura Goldstein, Director, Department of Project Management and Greg Spinali, Zone Project Management - Manager, will return to review current projects on campus.

Final details on the Spring Campus Clean-Up are getting nailed down but can't make the newsletter deadline. We'll send out details to you via email and have a link on the BGM web site later in February.

Sometimes storms bring down trees and power is interrupted to campus buildings. If your building does not have a generator, there are battery powered emergency egress and exit lights, but they ONLY POWER LIGHTS FOR 90 MINUTES.  Be proactive and develop a department plan for addressing staff and program needs if the power goes out. It is not safe for occupants to stay in a building without power, even if there are adequate windows to provide light. Discuss an action plan with your Department Chair/Dean and your Emergency Coordinator, so you have a plan in place for any outage.
