FROM THE GROUND UP
THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT NEWSLETTER

LBRE took your suggestions from the KPI survey seriously.  One important change will be how work orders are entered.  LBRE is approaching the final stages of a web form re-design for work requests.  With the goal of making the work request experience easier for customers, we have consolidated current forms into a single, user friendly form and made it mobile ready.  Save the date -January 26th, 2016 at 9:30 am, 340 Bonair Siding - for a hands-on demo. We have a tentative "go-live" date of February 1st, 2016.

Stanford's new energy system, known as the Stanford Energy System Innovations (SESI) project, was placed in full operation in April 2015. LBRE departments worked to optimize Central Energy Facility (CEF) supply and building HVAC system settings to achieve reliable and efficient operation, through a hot first summer.

As we enter our first winter under full SESI operation, LBRE will continue working together to ensure building HVAC needs are met, while optimizing energy efficiency. LBRE is closely monitoring building controls and work requests. Also critical is building feedback from occupants as we strive to explore and identify optimum HVAC control settings for all SESI buildings. Please submit a Facility Funded Work Request, if building space temperatures are outside of normal operating range (in winter, typically 68F to 72F, for offices and classrooms), during normally occupied hours. Please don't hesitate to contact your Zone for any continuing issue or additional information.

Meyer Green is now open. The fence around the old Meyer Library site came down on November 24th and people immediately began to enjoy the new open space.  Meyer Green can be requested for events via

Jacob Cohn is a Stanford Energy Hero!

Jacob Cohn, Libraries Facilities Coordinator,  is the Sustainability Champion of the Month!  Thanks to Jacob's scheduling and logistical support, Green Library, Bing Wing, and Lathrop Library were some of the first buildings on campus to reduce their plug loads through Sustainable Stanford's new equipment timer installation program. The 21 timers installed throughout the buildings are estimated to save the libraries about $500 in electricity costs every year!
