THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT NEWSLETTER
|
The second annual Building Manager Key Performance Index (KPI) Survey is being highlighted in this edition. The survey data was edited to present an overview of this year's responses compared to last. Zone Management will be reaching out to our Building Managers to get more information, based on comments given this year. The KPI Survey helps LBRE understand concerns in our Building Manager community about their buildings. It also gives us a chance to pass on compliments for outstanding service. And, as we did last year, LBRE will use results to improve services across campus.
At the LBRE All Hands Meeting in September, Laura Jones, Director, Heritage Services and University Archaeologist, spoke to the group about Stanford presidents. I thought it was very interesting and wanted to share their histories with you. Each month, we will focus on one of the ten presidents that directed growth at Stanford for the past 125 years, starting with David Starr Jordon. Also a reminder - it's important to enter a work order for any work that needs to be addressed. When techs are out in the field with a work order for a certain task, it is difficult for them to say no. But, they need to do the task assigned so that work can be tracked and systems can be monitored. If you want to add to the existing work order, please call 723-2281, the Operations Center, for a follow up work order so BGM can track the work and the tech's time. Happy Thanksgiving!

Now that daylight savings has ended, get in the habit of using task lighting when it's dark outside rather than overhead lights (and keep lights off during the day if you get enough natural daylight). By using a task lamp with a single CFL or LED bulb, you can reduce lighting energy consumption by 98%!
