June 2015
FROM THE GROUND UP
THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT NEWSLETTER

Visitors from all over the world comment on the beauty of our campus. But, especially during Commencement week, we want the campus to shine. It is because of every single Grounds Team member that we do! Grounds work hard every day, but really start to gear up in April. Many of them are on site throughout Commencement weekend.

Another very important BGM group that makes Commencement happen is Event Services (ES). I have seen VIPs tremble with anxiety when putting together a large event. ES makes it all look so easy and between the Audio-Video crew, setting-up hundreds of events using student volunteers their effort is downright brilliant! But especially the ES management team, they work long hours - all we see is results of hard, dedicated work. Stanford is lucky to have ES overseeing each detail so that every event site has the right combination of furniture layout, umbrellas, AV equipment - and that's not even including the commencement staging - the highlight of the weekend.

THANKS TO ALL WHO GIVE SO MUCH TO MAKE THE DAY SPECIAL FOR THE GRADUATING CLASS OF 2015!

Our next Building Manager training class will be held on Wednesday, June 24th from 1:30 pm until 3 pm. We will repeat the Building Manager: Roles and Responsibilities class for new Building Managers, but also for whoever would like a refresher on these important duties. We heard your request for snacks, and there will be light refreshments served.
