April 2015
FROM THE GROUND UP
THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT NEWSLETTER

The 2015 Building Manager Meeting in March was well attended. Don't forget, all Power Point presentations from the seven speakers are posted on the BGM website. Let us know what topics interest you for next year.  We heard about the desire for a hot breakfast, now let us know who you'd like to speak.

Zone Management holds regular smaller sessions for Building Managers focusing on a variety of topics. We'd also like to know what training interests you for these classes. Would you like another Bonair Siding Walk? Discussion of Stanford's HCP? Repeat of past classes? We are always happy to hear from you, contact me kb1@stanford.edu or Raveena raveena@stanford.edu. You give us some of our best ideas!

Admit Weekend begins Thursday, April 23rd and runs through April 25th. The Planning Team, as well as all of the Stanford community is getting ready for excited students to come to Stanford to look over their soon to be new home. There are events scheduled for parents as well as potential students. Check them out and see event schedule here.

  Annual Celebrating Sustainability Festival

Experience Stanford's thriving culture of sustainability and explore the plethora of ways the campus community can engage with sustainability at the  4th Annual Celebrating Sustainability Festival. Taking place Wednesday, April 22 from 12-2 pm at the innovative new Central Energy Facility, the event not only features games, activities and demonstrations from more than 30 different campus groups, live music, and food, but will also provide a first opportunity to tour the new facility, which will cut Stanford's greenhouse gas emissions by 80% and its potable water consumption by 15%.

This annual Earth Day celebration welcomes students, staff and faculty from across campus together to educate, inspire and empower the community to engage with sustainability efforts ranging from energy and water conservation to sustainable food opportunities. RSVP Today, email: becardinalgreen@stanford.edu or on our website  .
