November 2013
FROM THE GROUND UP
THE BUILDING MANAGEMENT NEWSLETTER

The Building Management Training schedule takes a break in November and December.  But, we start back up in January with a popular class.  Put a HOLD on your calendar for Thursday, January 30th, 9 am, Bonair Siding Conference Rooms (H, D & L).  We will repeat  Driving the BGM Website, so feel free to bring your laptop if you want hands on training.  Please, invite others in your department if  this class will help them to be more productive in scheduling work or to plan events.  We moved the training to a Thursday, based on your comments about Tuesday classes and your availability.  Zones will send out a reminder announcement in early January.  You may RSVP to Raveena Ulrich, at raveena@stanford.edu, at any time.  If you have any suggestions for other training topics, please let us know.

Campus Clean Up is still in progress as we go to press.  We plan to send out a survey before Winter Closure about the Fall Clean Up.  There have been comments about the length of time for each zone during this Clean Up and dumpster locations.   We would appreciate your feedback for future planning.

From the Ground Up will publish a joint December / January issue, due to the Winter Closure dates.

  Traffic Alert - Stanford-Oregon Game

On Thursday, Nov. 7, Stanford expects to host 50,000 fans at the stadium as the Cardinal hosts the Oregon Ducks.
Kickoff is at 6 p.m.

To alleviate traffic congestion, university administration has decided to allow employees to leave at 4 p.m., if their supervisors have granted permission.  All classes will be held as scheduled, including evening classes, unless the instructor has made prior alternative arrangements.

Also on that day, some stops on the Marguerite X and Y lines will be closed beginning at 2 p.m. and the buses will be rerouted. A map of the changes is posted on the Parking & Transportation Services website .

Marguerite riders should expect delays on lines X, Y, C, V, N, O, RP, SE, BOH and TECH.
