International Services Program Advisory Group (ISPAG) Feature: Antonio Sánchez Pozo, Granada, Spain
I wanted to be a pharmacist since I was a child, fascinated by the laboratory of a small pharmacy in a small village. In faculty, I discovered biochemistry and education at the same time thanks to Fermin, my professor and later my colleague at the Department of Biochemistry of the University of Granada. Research and teaching have been the pillars of my professional life for many years, with some incursions in industry and hospitals, until I was requested to develop the study plans of the Faculty of Pharmacy of Granada, the Innovation and Quality programs for teaching at the University of Granada and conduct the Andalusian University system. These experiences in addition to the participation in many national and international projects, advisory groups, etc., have moved me towards accreditation bodies in higher education as a way to improve the profession. I am proud to be part of ISPAG.

International Commissioner Feature: Claude Mailhot, BPharm, DPH, PharmD, Montreal, Quebec, Canada
As a former Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at Université de Montreal's (U of M) Faculty of Pharmacy, I was involved in the transformation of a Baccalaureate program toward an entry-level outcome-based PharmD. This experience convinced me of the importance of continuous quality monitoring of the curriculum in order to develop graduates able to provide optimal drug therapy through patient-centered care.  Over the years, I gained interest in quality assurance in higher education. My involvement in international affairs led to my appointment as president of CIDPHARMEF's evaluation commission (International Association of Francophone Faculties of Pharmacy) and I recently accepted the position of associate Vice-rector for quality promotion at U of M.

Serving on ACPE's International Commission since its implementation, I participated in the creation of the International Services Program.  I was impressed by the quality of the work done and can testify to the commitment, rigor, professionalism, knowledge and experience of the members of the Commission.  Improvement of pharmacy education and outcomes around the world is a common goal and we can measure concrete results through the certification process. Sharing common interest with knowledgeable pharmacy educators, practitioners and ACPE Staff has been an extremely fruitful experience.
