Le Monde 03/04/2014 - La commission du renseignement du Sénat américain a voté, jeudi 3 avril, en faveur de la déclassification d'une partie d'un rapport qu'elle a établi sur les méthodes d'interrogatoire musclées de la CIA. Dans ce document de 6 300 p ages, l'agence américaine du renseignement est accusée d'avoir dissimulé certains détails sur la brutalité de ses méthodes, assimilées à de la torture, en vigueur sous le  président George W. Bush après le 11 septembre, et auxquelles Barack Obama a mis fin en 2009.Ce vote, par 11 voix pour et 3 voix contre, autorise la présidente de la commission, la démocrate Dianne Feinstein, à transmettre les 400 pages de résumé du rapport, ainsi que ses conclusions et ses recommandations, à la Maison Blanche. Si Barack Obama donne son feu vert, comme attendu, les agences du renseignement s'engageront dans un processus de correction du document, où elles pourront pointer ce qui doit, à leurs yeux, rester secret. The Senate report, according to Al Jazeera's sources, says that the CIA detained some high-value suspects on Diego  Garcia, an Indian Ocean island controlled by the United Kingdom and leased to the United States. The classified CIA documents say the black site arrangement at Diego Garcia was made with the "full cooperation" of the British government. That would confirm long-standing claims by human rights investigators and journalists, whose allegations - based on flight logs and unnamed government sources - have routinely been denied by the CIA. The CIA and State Department declined Al Jazeera's requests for comment.
