St. Thomas School Newsletter - November 5, 2014
|
|
Dear St. Thomas Families,
Next Tuesday, November 11, is Veterans Day. It is appropriate that it occurs in the month of Thanksgiving. This provides a great reminder to give thanks to those brave men and women that have dedicated a significant portion of their lives, and in many cases placed themselves in harm's way, protecting our shores and promoting the freedoms we all hold so dear.
St. Thomas School has a long tradition of honoring our nation's veterans in this special day. Next week when you visit the school, you will be greeted by beautiful displays in our main hallway celebrating our veterans. Our faculty, staff and students have prepared a special all-school assembly to honor our veterans. The assembly will begin in the gym with a posting of colors at 9:00am. Following the presentation, our veterans in attendance are invited to join us in the cafeteria for a continental breakfast in their honor. This is just one small way for the school community to say "Thank You" for all the many scarifies our veterans have made. If you plan on attending, please RSVP by Friday, November 7. If you have any memorabilia you would like displayed, please contact the school office at 572-4641.
It is hard to believe, but the Annual Turkey Festival is only two weeks away. It will be held on Saturday, November 22, from 5:00pm-10:30pm. Dinner will be served in the cafeteria from 4:00pm-8:00pm. The Boosters and Mothers' Club are still looking for volunteers to help with the event. See the articles in this newsletter for more information.
Have a blessed week.

We are also seeking festival sponsors - opportunities from $50 - $1,000 are available. Please contact Jim McMahon at (jimmcmahon86@hotmail.com, 513-476-2176) if you are interested in sponsoring the festival or know of a business that might be interested.
